Conference on the air connectivity in Indianocéanie, 2-3 May in Port Louis
The road map adopted during the conference on the regional air transport of 2nd and 3rd May 2013 announces the decision to cause a ministerial meeting of the Ministers responsible for the civil aviation and for the tourism during the course of the year. The conference held in Port Louis thus establishes the preliminary phase of the coming ministerial meeting because it will belong to the decision-makers to take the necessary measures for the refoundation of the regional air transport.
The air connectivity participates in the sustainable economic development of our economies being confidentially connected to the tourism sector and more and more in the industries of import and export.
The competitiveness of the member countries of the IOC will have to be able to rest on an intra-regional air connectivity and with the vastest solid world, frequent and low-priced. The possible options are multiple and were discussed during two days of conference. It is thus a question of refining the proposals with the support of the professionals of the civil aviation, the tourism, the industries of import-export, and the international and partner organizations in the development.

The Indian Ocean Commission joins the government of the Union of Comoros and condemns " the attempt of destabilization "
Ebène, 25th April, 2013 - The General Secretary of the Indian Ocean Commission, Jean Claude de l'Estrac, condemns firmly " the attempt of destabilization " arisen in Moroni the last weekend and bring his support to the president of the Union of the Comoros, Dr Ikililou Dhoinine and for the Comorian people.
"The respect for the democracy and for the institutions is an expensive value in the IOC. We support the political stability of our member countries and disapprove with the biggest firmness of all the attempts which would put it in danger. The Union of Comoros can count on our support" asserted Jean Claude de l' Estrac. He expressed himself after the statement of Dr Ikililou Dhoinine asking to the international community to continue to rely on his country. We note with interest the statement by the president Dhoinine calling the international community to continue to rely on the Comorians who will never allow a step backward to come to undermine all the efforts of peace and cohesion of our young nation.
